Illustrations
All
the images on this page were drawn as chapter illustrations for my
published or unpublished novels. The images depict scenes from the story
and they are meant to look like drawings, not photographs. After years of
drawing I have come to admire the work done by impressionist artists.
Images that are rough, filled with texture and value, are more pleasing to me
than a highly polished piece.
The
illustrations created for Books One & Two of "The Land" series were
intentionally scratchy, a bit blurry, and filled with muted colors because the
book is based on a dream. Our dreams aren't accurate or super clear like a
computer image or photograph. I wanted to capture my characters dream
world.
